About Dave Mitchell
As a child, photography grabbed me. Initially, through the “The Golden Book of the Civil War.” Photos that had been taken one hundred years before amazed me. The realization that pictures can leave lasting impressions was enough for me to become enamored with photography as a craft.
My work has evolved from film camera to digital camera. I simply enjoy recording images that I hope will be viewed by others-perhaps even one hundred years from now. I hope you enjoy these samples of my work.
My fascination with photography definitely revolves around the outdoor world; hence, my nickname, ‘nordic biker’.
My love of cross country skiing and bicycle riding have enhanced my appreciation of what can be discovered, visually, outside.
During the winter, skiing allows one to discover beautiful shapes and designs that otherwise might be missed.
Riding a bicycle frequently results in seeing vegetation and barns and bridges that bring wonder to one’s eyes.
